Parkland and the surrounding Broward County area have some of the best free and low-cost water play options for families — and most are within a 15-minute drive of your front door.

Liberty Park Splash Pad

Tucked inside Parkland's own Liberty Park at 9200 Ranch Road, this seven-acre community gem features a water play area that's perfect for toddlers and young children. The splash pad runs alongside two wooden playgrounds with slides and forts, so you can easily spend a full morning here. Liberty Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset, and admission is completely free. Pack snacks, bring towels, and make a day of it — the large pavilion is available for parties and events through the Parkland Parks and Recreation Division at 954-757-4105.

Pine Trails Park Fishing Pier

Parkland's largest park, Pine Trails Park, offers a different kind of water fun — fishing. The park's fishing pier is home to the annual Parkland Fishing Derby, and the expansive playground features an interactive NEOS system to keep kids moving. With soccer fields, trails, and open green space, it's a go-to spot for active families who want to mix water time with outdoor play.

Splash Adventure Water Park at Quiet Waters Park

Just south of Parkland in Deerfield Beach, Splash Adventure is one of Broward County's most popular family water parks. Located at 401 S Powerline Road inside Quiet Waters Park, this child-friendly destination features splash pads, water fountains, and safe water attractions designed specifically for younger kids. The park operates in timed sessions — typically starting at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. — to keep crowds manageable.

Admission is $6 per person for all-day access, or $4.40 per person if you arrive after 3 p.m. Children under one year old get in free. The park is open weekends during the school year and daily during summer break. Call 954-357-5100 to confirm current hours before heading out.

Ski Rixen USA — Cable Wakeboarding and Aqua Park

For families with older kids and teens, Ski Rixen USA sits right next door in the same park. America's original cable wake park has been pulling riders across calm waters since 1983 — no boat required. The cable system silently pulls wakeboarders, water skiers, and bodyboarders across a glassy lake, making it an accessible way to try water sports without the expense of a boat.

Ski Rixen also features an inflatable Aqua Park — a floating obstacle course on the water that's part wipeout, part playground. It's the kind of experience kids talk about for weeks. Coral Springs Pools and Aquatic Centers

A short drive west of Parkland puts you in Coral Springs, where the city operates three excellent public aquatic facilities with affordable family pricing.

Coral Springs Aquatic Complex

Located at 12441 Royal Palm Boulevard, this world-class facility features a 50-meter competition pool, a dive well, and 7,500 square feet of fitness equipment. The Aquatic Complex has hosted Olympic-level swimmers and divers, but it's equally welcoming to families looking for open swim time. The facility is open year-round, and hours vary by season. Cypress Water Park

Cypress Water Park is the crown jewel of Coral Springs summer fun. This uniquely shaped clover pool includes a splash pad designed for preschool-age children, an interactive water playground, and a two-story water slide (riders must be at least 48 inches tall). The park opens for the season in early June and runs daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Tuesdays.

Admission is remarkably affordable: $4.37 for children and seniors, $4.97 for adults. That's a full day of water fun for less than the cost of a movie ticket.

Mullins Pool

Located at 10180 NW 29th Street inside Mullins Park, this community pool features a 25-yard swimming pool, two diving boards, and a beach-entry shallow water children's pool — ideal for families with little ones who aren't quite ready for the deep end. The beach entry lets toddlers wade in gradually, giving parents peace of mind. Check the Coral Springs recreation website for seasonal hours and open swim times.

Beach Days: Deerfield Beach and Beyond

Parkland residents are just 20 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, and Deerfield Beach is the closest stretch of coastline for a quick beach day.

Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier

The 976-foot International Fishing Pier at Deerfield Beach is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. As of 2026, pier admission is free — a rare find in South Florida. You can walk the pier, watch fishermen pull in their catch, or try your hand at fishing yourself (rod rentals are available nearby). The beach below is patrolled by lifeguards daily, with a one-mile stretch of sand perfect for swimming, body boarding, and building sandcastles.

Adjacent to the pier, the S-Curve dining district offers waterfront restaurants, rooftop bars, and beachside eats — so you can turn a morning swim into a full afternoon out.

Boca Raton Beaches

Ten minutes south of Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton offers South Inlet Park and the Boca Raton South Beach Pavilion. South Inlet Park has free parking and a beautiful stretch of sand where the inlet meets the ocean — calmer waters make it a favorite for families with young swimmers.
